I don’t normally design my jewelry with any sort of theme in mind, and sometimes I find spring colors a challenge, but I’m trying it out.
Recently, I shared the pink and grey pendant necklace: https://mieloabelo.com/blog-news-and-a-new-necklace/
This weekend, I completed and listed Yellow Opal & Mookaite Gemstone Necklace: https://mieloabelodesigns.com/yellow-opal-mookaite-gemstone-necklace/
This necklace is comprised mostly of components I found in January at the International Gem and Jewelry show. It took me a while to figure out the design on this one. I strung, took it apart, strung again, took it apart again, and again. It was definitely challenging for me to find the look I wanted.
As the title indicates, it is yellow opal and mookaite (one of my favorite stones) with brass accents on a gold toned stainless steel chain.
While the deep rich hues are reminiscent of autumn leaves, I felt like paired with the yellow opal, they would also complement spring attire.
I don’t know if I will continue with a spring theme, but giving myself a certain direction for a design can be a fun challenge and forces me to think in ways I might not if I was just creating whatever came into my brain, which is my usual MO.
Here are some photos and a little video just to show off the sparkle of the faceted beads.

How do you feel about themed jewelry? Let me know and tune back in to see if I continue on this path.
