Lately, I have been struggling with inspiration and design ideas. Do you ever feel like you have made everything you have in you? I’ve posted previously about the goimagine monthly maker challenge, and July is Silver Lining. You would think I could come up with something working with metal, but I have been at a loss.
I haven’t updated my gallery in a while, that is probably something I should put on my list. Sometimes I like to look back at old works:

But even though I like to look at old pieces for inspiration, I don’t like repeating designs, and the submission I have prepared feels very reminiscent of a couple of necklaces I’ve made. Not that I don’t like it, I just wish I could have come up with something fresher. It is listed in the shop already:

Yes, I need more stylish clothes for Ichabodetta!
I am currently working on another necklace using flame colored copper. I have the basic idea, but I’m trying to decide on accent beads and other details, and put it all together. I may be able to come up with another idea to submit instead of the fan necklace, but we are fast approaching the deadline, so chances of that are slim. Here is my YouTube video making the parts.
I used pre-cut blanks this time. I haven’t pulled my disc cutter out in a while. My video making skills aren’t really improving, and practice makes more practice in my case, but improvement in all things photography is high on my goal list.
As the end of July looms straight ahead, I am thinking about how fast the year has gone by. Every year it seems faster and faster. Some of my 2024 goals have been met, like getting my goimagine store set up and blogging at least somewhat regularly. I will push adding more in-person markets to next year, but better organization of my work space is a MUST. I have a short term goal to slowly work on that over the remaining days of July. I spend more time looking for things than I do making things!
Stay tuned for more updates!
